Our Journey: From Roots to Expansion

Founding Year

Durham-Duplex Razor Company was established in New Jersey by the Durham Family who invented the slotted or "Durham" double sided or "Duplex" blade for a safety shaving system which gave us our unusual name. This wet shaver proved so successful the Company opened a European manufacturing facility in Sheffield "The Steel City" in 1910 which is still manufacturing today.

Global Reach

Fast forward to 2025 and Durham-Duplex UK has grown away from shaving and into a international group supplying machine knives, hand knives and industrial blades into the global manufacturing sector. Durham-Duplex is a family owned group with subsidiaries in UK, Europe, Asia and USA.

Durham-Duplex returns to USA

Having exported to USA under both Durham-Duplex and Sheffield Machine Knife, with inventory held in IL, the Company was incorporated in 2025 and established in Waynesboro, VA to better serve its North American clients.

Future Vision

Durham-Duplex is committed to manufacturing its own products, which requires both innovation and customer satisfaction. Our Sheffield roots and quality ethos is underpinned by our ISO9001:2015 accreditations and has been tempered on the anvil of fast moving global business over decades. Meeting customer requirements is key to our vision for the future.
